Visceral fat is a type of body fat which is stored within the abdominal cavity and located near vital organs, thus making it a dangerous type of fat to have. Visceral fat has been linked to metabolic disturbances and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Experts recommend a diet with four of these types of food to help accelerate the belly fat burning process.


Eggs are among the healthiest foods one can eat.

They are rich in high-quality protein, healthy fats and many essential vitamins and minerals.

Eggs also have a few unique properties that promote weight loss.

Eggs are low in calories and are nutrient-dense keeping you feeling full and reducing the appetite.

Whole grains

Whole grains promote weight loss in several ways.

Whole grains are digested slower in the body so it keeps a person feeling fuller for longer rather than processed grains like white bread, rice or pasta.

Whole grains increased calorie loss by decreasing the number of calories retained during digestion helping to banish visceral fat.

Lean protein

Lean meat is a weight-loss friendly food because it’s high in protein.

Protein is used in many bodily functions including cell maintenance and repair and blood clotting.

It aids in satiety by affecting the hormones which control hunger and how quickly food empties from the stomach.

Soluble fibre

Soluble fibre, such as beta-glucan and glucomannan, mixes with water to form a viscous, gel-like substance that slows down how fast the stomach releases digested food into the gut.

Eating more soluble fibre can also help you lose belly fat and prevent belly fat gain.

It not only helps you feel fuller and reduces constipation but may also lower your cholesterol and blood sugar levels

Food examples with soluble fibre include black beans, Brussels sprouts, avocados or sweet potatoes.

When it comes to a food type to avoid, foods rich in sugar should be kept to a minimum.

Foods and beverages that are packed with added sugar, such as cakes, cookies, ice cream, candy, and soda, tend to be low in or completely lacking in protein – a nutrient essential for blood sugar control that promotes feelings of fullness.

Studies show that added sugar has uniquely harmful effects on metabolic health.

Numerous studies have indicated that excess sugar, mostly due to the large amounts of fructose, can lead to fat building up around your abdomen and liver.
