How to get rid of an ingrown toenail
One of the best ways to treat your ingrown toenail is to soak it in warm water, according to medical website Healthline.
Use a warm, soapy water to reduce the swelling and relieve some of the pain.
Try soaking your toe three times a day for around 20 minutes each time.
For an even greater benefit, try adding some Epsom salts to the water.

Alternatively, you could try soaking your toenail in apple cider vinegar, it added.
Apple cider vinegar reportedly has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, it said.
“To try this remedy, prepare a basin of warm water combined with a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar,” said the medical website.
“Soak the affected foot for up to 20 minutes daily. Dry your foot thoroughly after soaking.”
There are also a number of over-the-counter treatments available for ingrown toenails.
The antibiotic treatments lower the risk of an infection developing, while also promoting healing.
Always follow the recommended dosage on the packaging.
You should combine any home remedies with wearing comfortable socks or shoes.
You should definitely avoid cutting your toenail if it becomes ingrown, warned the NHS.
It’s best to leave it to grow out, and avoid picking at the nail.
You should speak to a doctor if home treatments aren’t helping your ingrown toenail.
If your toe is incredibly painful, or if it’s swollen with pus coming out of it, you should see a GP.
